A homogenous distribution of the reinforcements in the Al matrix was obtained after milling the mixed powdersby a Planetary ball mill for a period of 45 h at a ball-to-powder ratio of 10:1. The uniform distribution of Al2O3 and Al2O3-ZrO2 in the Al matrix was confirmed by characterizing these nanocomposite powders by SEM and XRD techniques.
